State Commissioner of Education Makes Stop in Paris

Paris Independent Schools hosted Kentucky State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Terry Holliday, on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Dr. Holliday engaged in a round table discussion with district administration and the school board chairman over breakfast.

Paris Recognized at October State Board Meeting
The State Commissioner of Education recognized Paris Independent Schools as one of the top ten districts in the state for improvement in preparing more graduates to be college/career ready.  The complete list is as follows:  Silver Grove Independent, Hickman County, Berea Independent, McLean County, Robertson County, Paris Independent, Estill County, Trimble County, Leslie County, and Raceland-Worthington Independent. 

Paris High to Host Blood Drive
The Paris High School Beta Club will hold a blood drive on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  If you are interested in signing up to give blood, please contact Mrs. Brandi Ogden, club sponsor, at 987-2168. 

Infinite Campus Parent Portal Now Mobile App
Infinite Campus can now be accessed from parents' smart phones!  Log in to the Parent Portal then click on the "Available on the App Store" icon then follow directions listed.  You will need a new user name for this app.  Password remains the same.  Email or for new user name.  Click here for a quick tutorial.

Paris Schools is pleased to welcome State Commissioner of Education Dr. Terry Holliday on Thursday, October 20, 2011. 

Hall of Fame Banquet Set for October 20, 2011
The 30th Greyhound Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on the campus of Paris High School in the Fine Arts Center Cafeteria beginning at 6 p.m.  Steve Parker will be the evening's speaker.  Click here for more information about Dr. Parker and the history of the Hall of Fame. 

Central Office Treats Paris Employees to Lunch!
Paris Independent Central Office Staff treated all faculty and staff to a cook-out in order to show their appreciation for everyone's hard work and dedication to the district.  Included on the menu were veggies from the school garden and burgers grilled by the Superintendent!

Paris District Celebrates International Heritage
The Paris School District hosted a "Lights on After School Event" celebrating International Heritage.  The event, sponsored by Race for Education, featured food, dance, information and fun representing countries from all around the world.  Click here to view the complete photo gallery of projects and activities. 

Band Finishes First in Class at Nicholas County
Congratulations to the Paris Band of Pride who finished first in their class at Nicholas County on Saturday, October 8, 2011.  Click here to view their winning performance! 

Paris Band of Pride to Perform at Nicholas County on Saturday, 10/8
The PHS Marching Band will take the field for competition at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Nicholas County High School.  This will be a great opportunity to see these musicians perform since they are competing so close to home.  Go Band!
