AOHS Visits UK Science Center
 
On September 15, 2015 AOHS second and third year students visited the UK Science Outreach Center.   Dr. Don Frazier gave a presentation on gross anatomy. He gave students the chance to hold a real human brain, spinal cord, lungs and heart in their hands for some hands-on learning in anatomy.  Amanda Morgan participated in an ultrasound demonstration of how the circulatory system works while Dag Salinas participated in the electrical current used to generate muscle movement.  Afterwards, students were given a tour of the Helicopter pad at the UK trauma Hospital.  Visit our Facebook Page to view the complete gallery.

Traveling Carpet Maze!
 
On September 15th four JKG students attended and set up a booth at the United way awards ceremony at the Fifth Third Pavilion in Lexington. Students demonstrated their team building game "carpet maze".  Visit our Facebook page to see the complete photo gallery.

Happy Grandparents Day!
  Thanks so much to Paris High School grandparents who were our special guests today as we celebrated Grandparents Day! Best wishes to the grandparents of Lucy Steiner, Mary and Kerby Neill, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary today!  Check Facebook for more pictures from Grandparents Day.

Senior Wall a New Addition to PHS
 
Some of our seniors got their first glimpse of our new "Senior Wall". Thanks to our new poster machine we will be able to display student achievements throughout the school year!
           

AOHS Hosts Guest Speaker
 
Courtney Blankenship, RN,  director of emergency services at Bourbon Community Hospital visited Mrs. Amy Majewski's first year students on Sept 8, 2015.

First Club Day at PHS!
 
Today was the very first "Club Day" at PHS! Students participated in cake decorating, basketball skills, golf, fantasy sports, crafts, sewing, Anime, History of Rock 'n Roll, Board Games, Sign Language and Outdoor Skills. It was a blast!  Check out the rest of the photos on Facebook!

2015 Marching Band of Pride Opens Contest Season September 19
 
The Marching Band takes the field on September 19, 2015 in Casey County for their first competition. The band is under the direction of Mr. Eric Masters and Drum Major Amanda Morgan. First Day with Chrome Books!
 
Students in Mrs. Colleen White's classroom enjoyed the luxury of using their Chrome Books to take a quiz in Science class on Friday, September 4. AOHS Students Make Gak!
 
Academy of Health Sciences (AOHS) students reviewed compound reactions in Body Structures and Functions class on September 3, 2015. Students created colorful compound reactions called "Gak", a slime like goo.  The class is taught by Mrs. Amy Majewski.
