Eric Masters

High School and Middle School
Band Teacher and Director

My name is Eric Masters and I am the Band Director and Music Humanities teacher at Paris Middle School and High School!  I am originally from Lexington, KY and a graduate of Tates Creek High School.  I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Kentucky in 2009 and my Master of Education in Instructional Design from Western Governor's University in 2012.  In college I was a member of several ensembles, including the Symphonic Band, Trumpet Ensemble, Wildcat Marching Band, UK Pep Band, and even a German-Polka quintet!  I served as trumpet section leader for the Wildcat Marching Band and had the opportunity to travel with both the football and basketball teams.  I student taught at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington under Jeff Hood.  I began teaching as Assistant Band director at Wayne County Schools in 2009 under Rob Rawlings, and later under Andy Critz.  This is my first year as a teacher at Paris and I am extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful school system and community!

On a personal level, I am married and have three small children.  I am an avid UK fan.  I love to read and listen to music.  My favorite things to listen to include classical music (especially Tchaikovsky), Relient K, and Weird Al.  I am looking forward to having a great year!
