8th Grade Language Arts Class Skypes with Author
Students in Mrs. Jennifer Steele's 4th period Honors Language Arts class have been reading the book, Can't Get There from Here by author Todd Strasser.  Students had the opportunity to skype with Mr. Strasser and ask questions they had prepared in advance. For more photos, please visit Mrs. Steele's webpage. 

Bluegrass Conference All Conference Cross Country Team Named
Congratulations to Jackson Yazell, Derek Plummer and Connor Brady who were named to the Bluegrass Conference All Conference Middle School Team for cross country. 

Eighth Grade Girls' Basketball Players Recognized

Recognition Ceremony Set for Thursday!
2010-2011 KCCT Recognition will be Thursday, October 27th at 11:00 in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium.  Students who scored proficient and distiguished will be recognized.  After the ceremony, those students who scored proficient/distinguished will get to go off campus for lunch.  The school will pay for those students who scored a distinguished. 

Two Dollars to Make a Difference!
  Paris Middle School students have been asked to bring in $2 to contribute to the Susan G. Komen Fund in honor of breast cancer awareness.   Please support this cause! 

  Report Cards for First Nine Weeks were sent home with students Tuesday, October 18, 2011.

Infinite Campus Parent Portal Now Mobile App
Infinite Campus can now be accessed from parents' smart phones!  Log in to the Parent Portal then click on the "Available on the App Store" icon then follow directions listed.  You will need a new user name for this app.  Password remains the same.  Email or for new user name.  Click here for a quick tutorial.  

Students Qualify for Duke TIP
Six students from Paris Middle School have qualified to participate in the Duke University Talent Identification Program (TIP). These academically talented students scored at least a 95th percentile or higher on the most recent grade-level test. One of the unique opportunities as part of this select group is the opportunity to take either the ACT or SAT as a seventh grade student.  Congrats to Peter Regard, Louella Fields, Isaiah Benson, Elizabeth DeBord, Akhira Umar and Shelbie Stamper.


Paris Schools Celebrate International Heritage
The Paris School District hosted a "Lights on After School Event" celebrating International Heritage.  The event, sponsored by Race for Education, featured food, dance, information and fun representing countries from all around the world.  Shelby, Lizzie, Shelbie and Jere pose in their Egyptian finery!  Click here to view the complete photo gallery of projects and activities.

Eighth Grade Girls Basketball Players Honored Tonight!
Paris Middle School 8th grade girls basketball players will be honored tonight before their final home game!  Festivities will take place between the 7th and 8th grade games.   

Paris Band of Pride to Perform at Nicholas County on Saturday, 10/8
The PHS Marching Band will take the field for competition at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Nicholas County High School.  This will be a great opportunity to see these musicians perform since they are competing so close to home.  Go Band!  

Football to Play for Grid-Iron Conference Championship on Saturday
The Paris Middle School 7th and 8th grade football teams will compete for their respective conference championships titles on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Lexington Catholic in Lexington, Kentucky.  The 7th grade game has a kick-off time of 12:00 noon with the 8th grade game immediately following.  Both teams have also qualified for the State Play-offs.  Details will be publicized as soon as they are available.
