Paris Middle School Holds Promotion Ceremony
  Congratulations to the 2015 Eighth Grade Promotion Class at Paris Middle School.  Promotion was held Thursday, May 28, 2015.  Kara Shepherd, Paris High School graduate, Class of 2009, was the guest speaker.


MS P.E. Class Visits Xtreme Fitness
  On April 30, Paris Middle and High School Health and PE classes visited "Xtreme Fitness" on Main St. in Paris which is owned and operated by Matt Perraut.  Matt led the students through a variety of different circuit exercises that combined both strength and cardiovascular endurance.  Click here to view the complete photo gallery.


Seventh Grader Qualifies for State Recognition
  Danielle Small has qualified for state recognition for the Duke University TIP program.  She took the ACT this year and qualified based on those scores.  The recognition ceremony will be held on May 22 at Western Kentucky University.  Congratulations!


Junior Beta Club Attends Convention

Students Discover Crime Scene in Middle School

Students in Ms. Jennifer Gibson's class participated in their annual crime scene to start their argument writing unit. To start learning how to create arguments, the students witness a crime scene in the classroom and figure out "who dunnit", then argue their stance. Pictured is the 7th grade honors class looking at the crime scene trying to figure out what has happenened.

Sixth Graders Perform Skits Based on Stories
Ms. Ann Davidson's sixth grade English class recently wrote skits based on a short story they read in class.  Students could choose from "Thank You M'am' by Langston Hughes, "Priscilla and the Wimps" by Richard Peck, and "The Southpaw" by Judith Viorst.  Click here to see all photos from this activity.

Pedaling Through the Pages

A big "thank you" to McDonalds for the healthy initiative grant for "Pedaling through the Pages" in Ms. Gibson's 7/8th grade Language Arts classroom. The students will get the chance to pedal as they read to help increase retention and comprehension rates as well as gain a healthier lifestyle.

Mr. McCauley Meets American Track Athlete
Mr. Stephen McCauley, P.E. teacher, recently attended a professional development meeting where he had the privilege of meeting Lex Gillette.  Gillette, who is blind,  is a Paralympic World Champion and World record Holder in the Long Jump.

Former Students Speaks to Sixth Graders
  Anna Woosley a freshman at the University of Kentucky talked to Ms. Ann Davidson's sixth grade English class about what to expect and how to be successful in college.  Ms. Woosley is a Public Health major with a focus on improving women's health in third world countries.  Click here to view the complete photo gallery

Spotlight on Stupendous Spellers!
Congratulations to Will Zingg, (pictured above, right) the overall school winner of the annual Paris Middle School spelling bee.  Aerial West (pictured left) was the runner-up.  Will takes part in the county spelling bee on Feb. 12 at 2 pm at the Hopewell Museum.  Best of luck to him.  Click here to view the complete photo gallery.

Sixth Graders Learn About Advertising
