Ken Bicknell

Mr. Bicknell is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education (middle school science and English).  He also has Masters of Arts degrees in School Guidance Counseling and School Administration. He is currently serving as an Educational Recovery Leader for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE).  Mr. Bicknell is in his twenty- fourth year of education.  He has served as a middle school teacher in both science and English.  He also served as a high school guidance counselor and assistant principal.  Prior to working with KDE, he was the principal of B. Michael Caudill Middle School from 2008 until 2015.  Mr. Bicknell has also served as a part time instructor for Eastern Kentucky University Graduated Licensing and State Traffic School Programs.  During his time as a teacher he also coached football, basketball, and track.

Mr. Bicknell is the husband of Lisa Beth and is the father of two children Logan (24) and McKenzie (20).  He also has two step-daughters, Kaitlyn (21) and Amy (18).  Mr. Bicknell has been involved with the Richmond Chamber of Commerce as co-chair and chair of the Madison County Business and Education Partnership.  He volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House and Relay for Life, and is also a volunteer instructor for Elite Martial Arts in Richmond. 

Mr. Bicknell's quote: I am grateful to the Paris Independent Board of Education for entrusting me with the responsibility to lead as superintendent.  When speaking with the board members, it is apparent how much pride each member has in Paris Independent Schools and how dedicated they are to students’ success.  We will continue with the student-centered culture, built on a strong traditions of parent and community support.  I look forward to meeting the teachers, leaders and support staff of Paris Independent School as we begin preparation for the new school year.
