Brandi Ogden - Counselor

I was born and raised in Pikeville, Kentucky.  My parents still live there.  I graduated from Shelby Valley High School and attended Morehead State University.  I graduated with a degree in Biology and obtained a secondary teaching certificate in May 2000 and began my career at Paris High School in July 2000.

During my three years in the classroom I taught Biology, Earth Science, Integrated Science, Advanced Biology and AP Biology.  It was some of the most exciting times I have had.  I was also able to work with the girl’s soccer and basketball teams as well as being the head cheer coach for two years.

While teaching at PHS I was able to earn my Masters and Rank I in counseling from Morehead State University. In 2003, I began my career as the counselor at Paris High School and have overcome many obstacles and undergone learning opportunities.

Our students are tremendous at Paris.

In 2009,  I was assigned to be the Paris Middle School Counselor as well as high school.

While at times it can be overwhelming working with the variety of ages and students I learn new things daily.  I have spent 13 years as a member of our Site Based Council and hope to end my 27 year career at this fine institution.

Even though I am not a “Parisite” from birth I have been welcomed in to this community and school family and would not want to be anywhere else.

I have two beautiful children, Emmalyn (5) and Charlie (2).

In my spare time I love to travel and try new and dangerous things.  Skydiving is the most exhilarating thing I have tried so far, but I’m always looking for something new.  It is a real pleasure being at Paris.
