Hello! My name is Keith Griesser and I have the privilege of serving as the principal at Paris Elementary School. It is an honor to be a part of the rich tradition of PES and the Paris Independent School District.
I bring 17 years of public school experience, including 10 years in school administration. I have served in several roles throughout my career. Before coming to Paris, I worked at the Kentucky Department of Education as a Leadership Development Specialist; a part of the Principal Partnership Project (P3). Prior to working at KDE, I was the principal at Royal Spring Middle School in Georgetown. I have also worked as a basketball coach in Montgomery County, Scott County, and at Georgetown College.
My undergraduate degree is in Music Education and was earned at Georgetown College. While coaching basketball there, I also earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Georgetown. My Rank 1 in School Leadership was earned at Morehead State University.
I met my wife, Amy, when we were undergraduate students at Georgetown College. We married in 1994. She is a pharmacist at the University of Kentucky. We have four children: Emily, Luke, Grant, and Adam.
Professionally, I believe that culture is king; that kids deserve a positive, safe, engaging learning environment and that educators deserve a positive, safe, empowering teaching environment. I am a proponent of personalized learning for students and personalized professional development for teachers. I believe that all students can learn at high levels and that “all” really does mean all. I believe in praising publicly and correcting in private. I believe in connecting with other educators to continually grow and improve. I believe in involving parents, guardians, and community members by providing opportunities for them to see and experience the learning that is taking place in the school. I believe in using technology for administrative management, for amplifying student voice, for effective communication, and for supporting instruction. I believe in kindness. I believe in transparency. Finally, I believe in trust, and hope to earn yours as we work together to educate, mentor, and grow the children at Paris Elementary School.
I want your child to have a wonderful experience here at PES. If you ever have a suggestion, a question, a concern, or a celebration, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
