The Paris High School Music program boasts a tremendous heritage. The Marching Band has repeatedly received Distinguished ratings from the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) and has been a State Semi-Finalist in three different classes over the past twenty five years. Paris has appeared in the State-Semi-Finals each of the past six years and 16 of the past 25 years. The Concert Band has traditionally received Distinguished Ratings at the KMEA District Festival. Recent performance tours for the program include Central Europe (1997), Hawaii (1999), Boston/New York City (2001), Hawaii (2003), Cozumel, Mexico (2005), Italy (2007), Bahaman Islands (2010). Plans are underway for the band to perform in London England in 2012. Performance highlights include Sweepstakes winner in Boston, Symphonic Band performance at the Lincoln Center in New York, Youth Parade in Honolulu, Hawaii, Concert Choir performance Easter Sunday in Lucerne, Switzerland.

In 2013, Paris High School earned its first ever appearance in the KMEA Marching Band Finals in Class A.   PHS is one of the smallest schools in the state (less than 220 students) yet has one of the largest percentage of students enrolled in band (65) among all of the high schools in Kentucky. The music program is represented annually in the KMEA All-State Band, MSU Band Clinic, MSU Choral Clinic, and All-A Music competition. Additionally, the program receives a large number of Distinguished ratings annually for solo and ensemble performance at the District Assessment KMEA Music Festival.
