My passion for education has grown as my responsibilities for leadership within a school have increased. As a teacher at Milken Community High School, University School of Nashville, and East Jessamine High School, I learned the importance of meeting the individual needs of students and the power of literacy in all content areas. As an assistant principal at East Jessamine for 12 years, I learned how to use leadership to influence academic programs and school culture as well as the importance of listening to each student’s story. And, as head principal at Lexington Christian Academy for 3 years, I understand the desire for teachers to be seen and heard, the need for communication, the importance of leading by showing or doing, and the power of the student's voice. I am the father of three beautiful young ladies and I have been married to my wife, Rene’, for 30 years.
My passion is for students to reach personal goals by empowering them with the skills and knowledge to achieve them. As a school, we accomplish these things by setting high standards for achievement, building relationships with students, and finding ways to connect them to our school and community. We want every student to excel beyond graduation and set them on this course by offering opportunities for them to be Transition Ready for college or career options.
Paris has a long-standing history of pride in this community. Our desire as a staff is to have a school that shines bright in Central Kentucky to carry on that tradition of pride.
